There is a video showing the arrest of Ilaria De Rosa in Saudi Arabia. It most likely dates back to May 4, the day on which the hostess of Lithuania’s Avon Express airline officially “disappeared”. Three men take her away in a car speeding through Jeddah traffic. De Rosa was staying at the Spectrum Residence Sultan hotel while waiting for the return flight. The charges against her are possession and international drug trafficking. On 8 May, her mother, Marisa Boin, filed a complaint about her disappearance. And today in an interview with The print the lady tells a story that concerns the arrest of her daughter. “She’s been in bigger trouble than she is, but she’s never done drugs,” Boin said.
A colossal misunderstanding?
«Ilaria is used to working abroad. You are well aware that in certain countries such as Saudi Arabia it is dangerous to be found with drugs on you », she adds. The mother claims that her daughter went to a beach party: «But those are very strict countries where they arrest you even if they find you wearing alcoholic beverages. You can’t even drink a beer there. And instead it can happen that the boys go to the seaside to party and drink a few beers and then get arrested. After Ramadan they made many checks and many arrests. I know of 5,000 arrests. But, I repeat, Ilaria didn’t have drugs on her and she’s not a girl who smokes weed. I know her well, she is my daughter.’
Ilaria’s career
After graduating from Treviso, Ilaria De Rosa studied abroad at the United World College in Maastricht, the Netherlands. She speaks four languages. She has always been very studious and brilliant in school. The girl’s mother lives in Resana, still in the Treviso area, while her father lives in the Netherlands. After graduating in Human Sciences from the ‘Duca Degli Abruzzi’ in Treviso, the young woman had chosen to leave Italy, moving to Germany where she stayed for a short period during which she worked as a hostess for the neos airline.
