Livorno, 1 July 2024 – The regional Civil Protection has issued a warning in yellow code concerning the entire western side of Tuscany for the possibility of heavy thunderstorms scattered, due to an Atlantic trough moving eastwards associated with conditions of marked instability.
Code yellow will be in effect from 9pm today, Monday 1st July, to 9am tomorrow, Tuesday 2nd July.
Possibility of gusts of wind and hailstorms.
CIVIL PROTECTION ADVICE
In the event of warnings of critical issues or weather alerts, citizens are advised to raise the level of normal prudence and to follow the indications provided by the municipal Civil Protection and the information channels on traffic, as well as the evolution of weather conditions via radio, TV, institutional websites, e in case of heavy rain, observe the following precautions:
avoid crossing flooded roads and underpasses if they appear to be flooded as the depth and speed of the water may be greater than it appears;
the force of the rainfall could cause manhole cover caps to come out of their place: be careful when driving even on roads that are not very flooded;
be careful when traveling along roads where the water has receded because there could be dangers;
avoid walking or stopping along the banks of waterways, and on bridges and walkways;
place barriers to prevent water from flooding rooms below street level, such as cellars and underground garages.
