“The regional council has approved the resolution on the eighth edition of the ‘Summer nurseries’, which also this year provides for a spending commitment of 500 thousand euros in favor of the Ligurian municipalities leading the social territorial areas (locations of childcare services) open in July and August for at least two consecutive weeks. The contributions are divided based on the number of places made available, the number of opening days and the number of daily opening hours”. “The beneficiary Municipalities will have to provide for transfers to the other Municipalities of the same social territorial area, as well as to the owners of private services, on the basis of the distribution carried out by the Liguria Region which takes into account the programming received from the Municipalities, which, in turn, have investigated the needs expressed by families with children aged between 3 months and 36 months. On the basis of the plans received so far, it appears that 236 early childhood services will be open for at least two consecutive weeks, of which 101 are publicly owned and 135 are privately owned. a total of 8575 places made available, of which 6016 in July and 2559 in August. This is an important help to families from the Liguria Region and a commendable initiative after the success achieved in past editions: in 2023 they have in fact. participated – concludes the note – 93 Municipalities and 223 early childhood services with 7681 places made available”.
