Milan, 1 July. (askanews) – Cirque du Soleil arrives in Italy in 2025 with Alegrìa – In A New Light, the extraordinary creative reinterpretation of the famous 1994 show acclaimed internationally. The public is, therefore, invited under the Grand Chapiteau in Rome at Tor di Quinto (from 1 March to 13 April 2025), in Milan (from 25 April to 2 June 2025) and, for the first time ever, in Trieste ( from 13 June to 13 July 2025) to experience the pure theatrical magic of a completely reimagined Cirque du Soleil classic. Presented for the first time in April 1994, Alegrìa (“joy” in Spanish) is one of Cirque du Soleil’s most iconic shows as well as the most loved by fans all over the world, a true masterpiece that has contributed significantly crucial to consecrating the unique style of the company on an international level. On tour from 1994 to 2013, Alegrìa enchanted over 14 million spectators in 255 cities in 40 countries. Its soundtrack, nominated for a Grammy and characterized by the famous song “Alegrìa”, remained on the Billboard World Music Chart for 65 consecutive weeks and is still the most purchased and streamed Cirque du Soleil album. To celebrate the 25th anniversary, in 2019 Alegrìa was reborn in a new light. Alegrìa – In A New Light is a complete re-edition of the original show, designed to excite today’s audiences too. Since its world premiere, Alegrìa – In A New Light has been staged in countries such as Canada, the United States, South Korea, Japan, the United Kingdom and Spain, captivating over 2.5 million spectators.
