Here we are. The contract that ties me to Pontedera has just been filed and so I am preparing to leave Olbia and Olbia. I struggle to find the right words to convey the feeling that ties me to the Olbia team and the city. I will try to summarize everything with one word: THANK YOU.
Here I spent seven years of my personal and professional life that I will never erase from my heart. For this reason my thanks go first of all to those who wanted me in this team and in this city. The coaches, with whom I had the opportunity to collaborate, from Bernardo Mereu, to Filippi, Canzi, Occhiuzzi and Castricato, people with whom I shared a professional path through which I always tried to give the best of myself. Having scored ninety goals with the Olbia jersey and – as the experts say – fifty assists, gratify me personally and leave a feeling of great satisfaction in my heart.
I have often thought about this step of mine but on the threshold of my 33rd year, having taken note of the climate of uncertainty that reigns in society, I decided to find a place in a club that can allow me to play for a few more years at certain levels. I do it for my daughter Vittoria and for my wife Nina who until today have always accompanied me in this wonderful love story towards the white shirt and the city.
My thanks go to my fellow adventurers, La Rosa, Pisanu, Biancu, Ladinetti, Bianchimano and Occhioni, for supporting me and putting up with me, I wish them all the best. Everything they deserve, as do all the people who have worked in the company and who have never had the visibility that we footballers always had. Their contribution, always silent and collaborative, has meant that certain goals could be achieved all together.
A special thanks to CURVA MARE, they are true fans that I will carry in my heart, they are the ones who encourage you when things go badly and exalt you in moments of joy. I would like to dedicate to them the ninety goals scored with the white shirt, I would like to hug them one by one to show them the affection that binds me to the curve. I will miss their encouragement.
Finally, keeping the door open for a future return, I thank the entire city of Olbia for adopting me from the first moment. I would like to settle in Olbia when the time comes to hang up my classic shoes.
I don’t want to forget the press and the media who have always highlighted my performances but at the same time, in dark moments, encouraged me to give the best of myself.
