Genova. Strike on July 18 for local public transport staff, also in Genoa and Liguria.
The strike on Thursday 18 July of the public transport sector was proclaimed by Filt Cgil, Fit Cisl, Uiltrasporti, Faisa and Ugl in support of the negotiations for the renewal of the employment contract which expired in December 2023.
“Workers in the sector are witnessing a growing deterioration in working conditions and wages, staff shortages, and increasingly widespread episodes of physical and verbal aggression,” we read in a note.
“These conditions, together with the chronic difficulty in finding new drivers and other specialized figures, make the risk of a reduction in services increasingly tangible, as well as the impossibility of offering adequate local public transport”, continue the unions.
