Today 1 July, Turin welcomes the Tour, welcoming the arrival of the third stage, the longest of the 2024 edition with 231 kilometres.
“It will be a great day of sport, for which the city dresses up: yesterday and today, the Mole Antonelliana and the bridges over the Po will be lit up in yellow, the color of the Grande Boucle”, comments the mayor Stefano Lo Russo.
Many initiatives have accompanied the people of Turin along the path leading up to today, with the rich program of ToRide events and the many installations that have made our city even more beautiful.
After the giant human bicycle created in Piazza Castello in the flash mob for the -30th stage, another initiative with a strong visual impact will then be visible worldwide in the aerial shots of Monday 1 July.
Near the finish line, in the field of the “Porcelli” Sports Complex, in Piazza d’Armi, a huge sheet was placed with the writing “Turin ❤️ le Tour”, an affectionate tribute from the city to the passage of the Tour champions.
“We are really happy – concludes the mayor – Turin is ready to welcome an event of global importance, and to be the protagonist of a wonderful sports festival”.
