The 2024 edition of the Tour de France, the most beloved cycling race in the world, continues. The Grande Boucle this year has a very particular route (also due to the concomitance with the Olympics in France). The start was in fact from Italy (from Florence), and will arrive after 21 stages with an individual time trial in Nice (an unprecedented finale compared to the classic parade in Paris). Today, the third stage winds from Piacenza to Turin, for 230.8 km. Yesterday, the Frenchman Kévin Vauquelin, representing Arkea-B&B Hotels, won the second stage by a wide margin. The yellow jersey is on the shoulders of the Slovenian champion Tadej Pogacar.

The third stage

Third Italian stage with the first 67 km completely flat. In Tortona (1.1 km at 6.3%) the first GPM of the day, named after Fausto Coppi. Shortly after arrive the GPM of Barbaresco (1.5 km at 6.5%) and the GPM of Sommariva Perno (3.1 km at 4.6%), but they are all climbs of the 4th category where it will not be possible to make the difference. Last 40 km flat, with arrival in Turin.
