A special occasion to dine”under the stars” guided by the professionalism of a sommelier and accompanied by the sweet notes of the saxophone.

This is the experience not to be missed for those who want to be transported by the suggestive and multisensory atmosphere of the kitchen of one of the most beautiful Art Nouveau villas in Palermo.

We are talking about Villa d’Amatoa historic twentieth-century building located a stone’s throw from the sea and a few kilometres from the historic centre of the city and which opens the season
summer with an exclusive event.

Live music and glasses under the stars is the scheduled event Thursday, July 4that 9.00 pm, to inaugurate the Gardens of Villa d’Amato.

A few steps from the sea, an exclusive evening that includes a dinner with food and wine pairings led by Enrico Grimaldi, FISAR professional sommelier.

The guests will be accompanied during dinner by the live notes of the saxophone Vincenzo Gervasia young musician from Palermo with a 20-year career behind him. He started playing for fun as a child and has never stopped. Music, in fact, is a family tradition that he has cultivated with passion since a young age.

Among the most active saxophonists on the local music scene, the maestro offers during the evening some of the most beautiful melodies of the international repertoire, enriched by a touch of improvisation that will make the compositions original.

His notes accompany guests on this sensory journey through food and wine. Secure parking is available inside. More info on the hotel’s social media channels (Facebook page and Instagram profile).

Dinner which begins with a delicate appetizer based on Shrimp in kataifi pastry on a reduction of melon and ginger petals paired with Contarini’s Blanc de Blancs Millesimato Extra Dry.

We continue with a first course based on Carnaroli rice pearls with red mullet and prawns, fennel pesto, saffron and toasted almonds. He is paired with Fiurella (Grillo) from Tenutecinque di Menfi (Agrigento). A young but already exuberant wine from which all the power and freshness of Grillo comes out, the son of a place that is not just a plot of land, but a place to live.

We then move on to the second course based on cube of laddered veal sided with speck with porcini mushroom cream and Mogarsa (Sirah) from Tenutecinque of Menfi. Syrah, the international grape variety that has best rooted itself in our land, expresses itself best in this wine. After more than a year of aging in wood it remains fresh but powerful and structured. Sicily in a glass.

It ends on a sweet note with vanilla ice cream on biscuit and walnut crumble and the tasting of “Malvasia delle Lipari” from Caravaglio, an organic farm in Malfa (Salina – Aeolian Islands).
