M5s Calabria urges Governor Occhiuto on social and environmental bombs

CATANZARO – «Yesterday a delegation of the Calabrian 5 Star Movement requested and obtained a meeting with President Roberto Occhiuto to discuss and ask for clarity on some of the many emergencies that affect our land». This was stated in a note by the M5S MP and Calabrian coordinator Anna Laura Orricothe regional councilor Davide Tavernise and the MEP Pasquale Tridico.

“We have once again urged – they stated – the attention of the President of the Region on a whole series of social issues such as the dispute of the Abramo workers, the issue of the trainee workers in local administrations and the problem of the Tfs not paid to many workers of the land reclamation consortia, today largely merged into Calabria Verde. As well as discussing serious environmental criticalities such as the reclamation of the former Eni plants in Crotone, which risk becoming a permanent damage for the citizens, and the Melicuccà landfill, the risk of environmental disaster, under observation by the Castrovillari Prosecutor’s Office, represented by the Scala Coeli landfill. A long face to face meeting – the note continues – frank and direct, respecting the institutional roles of each, in which, however, we asked the governor for answers hoping that these are not vague and that, above all, they arrive in time, since these are all issues that are becoming real social and environmental bombs ready to explode”.

«For our part – conclude Orrico, Tavernise and Tridico – we will continue the activity of attention and surveillance on the work of President Occhiuto and his Council, in the exclusive interest of Calabria and the Calabrians».
