Lots of satisfaction for the Umbrian swimmers at the ‘Trofeo delle Regioni 2024’ held in Scanzano Jonico (Matera) on 29 and 30 June. The ‘Esordienti A’ of the Umbria team entered the top 10 of the Italian regions.
“Well done Giorgia Suadoni – a note reports – who in her first year in the category managed the feat of arriving in first place in the 100-meter butterfly race. Another great surprise is the third place achieved by Tommaso Mancini in the 100-meter backstroke and by Benedetta Guerrini with a beautiful 4th place in the 200-meter backstroke and 6th place in the 100-meter backstroke”.
«Really notable performances – he continues – were obtained by Jacqueline Barberi Nucci with a surprising 5th place in the 200 meters breaststroke and by Cesare Boncio who, in his first year in the category, also achieved 5th place in the 200 and 400 meters freestyle. Also worth mentioning is the very welcome 6th place of Santiago Agrestini in the 200 meter medley race and of the women’s 4X100 mixed relay team made up of Benedetta Guerrini, Jacqueline Barberi Nucci, Giorgia Suadoni and Francesca Figoli who obtained a very good 5th place in the final ranking”.
“Continuous improvements and truly noteworthy performances were made by all the other members of the Umbrian team who thus achieved something extraordinary with the 9th place in the final ranking. Considering the size of our territory, compared to regions that are decidedly larger than ours such as Veneto, Lombardy and Campania which ranked respectively on the first, second and third step of the podium. Great satisfaction for the technicians Federico M. Armini (Tonic Nuoto Terni) and Marilena Frascarelli (AVIS Spoleto) who for the second consecutive year led our Umbria to the 26th edition of the Trofeo delle Regioni”.

For the men’s sector: Alessio Catasti (Tonic Nuoto Terni), Cesare Boncio (Tonic Nuoto Terni), Santiago Agrestini (Libertas Rari Nantes Perugia), Matteo Santucci (Thebris Nuoto), Tommaso Mancini (AVIS Spoleto).
