Salerno Costa d’Amalfi Airport: the countdown for take-off begins

The month of July had long been marked in red on the calendar for the start of flights at Salerno Costa d’Amalfi airport and now we are at the final countdown: take off on 11th July, with the official inauguration. The runway will be populated already after 8am, when the first Volotea flight from Nantes and then the one from Milan Malpensa will land. As per the timetable of the Gesac plan, the first phase will start on time. The program of connections with the airport was also defined and communicated in recent days.

As for Salerno, the first shuttle will leave the station at 6.40am and arrive at the airport at 7.20am. Other departure and return times are scheduled during the week, with a cost of 5 euros each way, including the transport of one standard-sized baggage. From the Piazza Vittorio Veneto station, tourists can then easily continue with their itineraries using the sea routes and rail and road connections. Busitalia line 8 will also connect Salerno to the Amalfi Coast airport.

The route will be from Piazza Vinciprova to Battipaglia, with several departures during the day. The first authorizations have also arrived for bus connections to and from the Cilento coast, Pompeii, and for the large intermodal hubs of Naples and Afragola. Services for the Sorrento and Amalfi coasts and for the Battipaglia and Eboli stations will soon be integrated. A protocol has also been signed to guarantee an authorized taxi service that will be identifiable by a sticker, as a guarantee for operators and tourists.
