Conference on Taxpayer Rights in Tax Reform

On June 28, 2024, a conference entitled “Taxpayer Rights in the Tax Reform” was held at the Chamber of Commerce of Palermo and Enna. “fiscal”, organized by the Chamber of Tax Lawyers of Palermo, the Order of Lawyers of Palermo and the Order of Chartered Accountants of Palermo. The event was attended by the Deputy Minister of Economy, Maurizio Leo.

After introductory greetings from various local authorities and institutional representatives, including Brigida Alaimo and Alessandro Albanese, the conference was introduced and moderated by Angelo Cuva and Nicolò La Barbera. This was followed by reports from experts such as Antonio Perrone and Andrea Parlato.

Deputy Minister Maurizio Leo concluded the meeting by highlighting the progress of the tax reform, stating that, although there is still much to do, it is already well underway. He highlighted the importance of a climate of collaboration in Parliament and the goal of modernizing the Italian tax system.

During the conference, Cuva underlined the relevance of Tax Compliance in the fight against tax evasion, proposing to extend the experience of the regional “Compliance Table” to a national level. Barbera added that it is essential to restore the relationship between the Revenue Agency, professionals and taxpayers to pre-Covid levels, highlighting the need for greater human resources and efficient communication.
