Inter’s transfer market strategies continue as the weeks pass. Meanwhile, a double announcement arrives from Genoa regarding Martinez and Gudmundsson
L’Inter champion of Italy continues its post season. The Nerazzurri have already acquired new signings such as Taremi e Zielinski, also focusing on the renewals of some big names such as Barella and Lautaro.
The current focus of Marotta and associates is therefore on the transfer market of the near future, with the arrival of Josep Martinez between the posts now ever closer. Just the axis with Genoa is heating up again and the deal regarding the Spanish goalkeeper might not be the last one with the Grifone this summer. Genoa will receive just under 16 million euros between fixed portion and bonus for the Spanish goalkeeper.
Meanwhile, from the same red and blue club, Andres’ voice resounds loud and clear Blazquez, CEO of the Ligurians since 2022, who explained the whole strategy in a very long interview with ‘Calcio e Finanza’. Regarding Martinez he admitted: “Martinez is now almost an Inter footballer, pthere are other players that we will sell this summer, but mostly not the starters. We aim to have a positive impact of 10-12 million by managing to invest, as we did with Vitinha, also in anticipation of some exits”.
Inter transfer market, the announcement on Gudmundsson: “The investigation has not influenced the interest in him”
Blazquez took stock of the situation at home in Genoa, and could not miss a passage on the team’s absolute star: Albert Gudmundsson.
The Icelandic striker has been a big target for Inter for some time, and after Martinez he could therefore go on to inflame the axis between the Ligurians and the Milanese again. Next autumn Gudmundsson will have to face a trial for sexual violence in his homeland, and regarding the issue with related thoughts on the future, the Genoa CEO admitted: “The investigation on Gudmundsson did not influence the clubs’ interest in him. It is not a simple process even if the footballer has always said he is convinced of his innocence and we believe him.”
Finally he added: “I say that his situation has not been affected because the market for strikers has not yet started”. The situation regarding the Icelander therefore remains complicated, while Inter observes and tries to find a solution to get to a striker who scored 16 goals and provided 5 assists last season.
