Regeneration works will begin on Monday 1 July 2024 in via Vittorio Veneto in Cassano d’Adda and the worst is already feared in terms of traffic and beyond.

Many changes to the road system

The traders who, yesterday, Friday 28 June 2024, had a meeting in the Municipality were enraged:

The news was released on Thursday, it is possible that an Administration does not know even in advance that it will implement such an important intervention. Furthermore, Piazza Garibaldi is still closed (the opening of a lane was planned but there were delays, ed.) and this will cause further inconvenience

they commented.

But the Board has specified that the tight communication times are a consequence of the receipt of the traffic and safety plan presented by the company that will carry out the works and of the Anas ordinance issued in recent days.

From 6am on 1 July to 10pm on 31 October, therefore, those arriving from Treviglio will be forced to turn into via Verdi, given that the one-way street in via Veneto will go towards the bridge.

The works, according to the contract, will have a maximum expected duration of 160 calendar and consecutive days and will be carried out in batches.

During the period during which the works will be carried out, several changes to traffic are planned: allowing access to the city, for vehicles coming from via Treviglio, to residents only; the establishment of a one-way system in the direction of Treviglio along via Vittorio Veneto, limited to the stretch of road between the access to the Monsignor Carlo Valli car park and piazza Giuseppe Garibaldi, allowing a left turn onto via Dante (previously prohibited); confirmation of the one-way system currently in place along via San Dionigi; modification of the current traffic organisation on via Giuseppe Verdi, extending the one-way system also in a westerly direction (towards via Monte Grappa), up to the intersection with via V Martiri; the abolition of parking areas on via Vittorio Veneto, in the stretch affected by the work.
