On the occasion of Zucchero’s concert, scheduled for tomorrow, Sunday 30 June at 9pm, at the “Franco Scoglio” in San Filippo, the urban mobility service of the Municipality of Messina has drawn up a detailed road plan. These measures aim to ensure safety during the inflow and outflow of spectators, including traffic restrictions, shuttle bus services and specific sales bans.

Traffic of Tomorrow

Embankment Access Road to the “Palasport San Filippo” – Via degli Agrumi:

  • Do not stop: On both sides, with forced removal, from 5pm on Sunday 30 June to 3am on Monday 1 July.
  • No passing: From 8am on Sunday 30 June until 3am on Monday 1 July (and in any case until vehicular and pedestrian transit is normalised) between via Adolfo Celi (ex SS 114) and the Palasport San Filippo. Excluded from this ban are organisation’s vehicles, motorcycles and mopeds heading to the Palasport parking area (blue area, maximum capacity of 400 vehicles), law enforcement vehicles, first aid vehicles and authorized vehicles.

  • Access denied: From 11:00 a.m. on Sunday 30 June to 3:00 a.m. on Monday 1 July, except for law enforcement, emergency vehicles, Messinaservizi Bene Comune vehicles, taxis, authorized vehicles and vehicles serving disabled people with a permit.

Connection road between the San Filippo junction link road and the SP Santa Lucia:

  • Do not stop: On both sides from 5pm on Saturday 29 June to 3am on Monday 1 July.
  • No passing: From 8am on Sunday 30 June to 3am on Monday 1 July to allow private buses to park.

Shuttle Bus Services

Before the concert, the ATM shuttles will stop to disembark passengers on the north side of Via Sacra Famiglia, in the section between Via Adolfo Celi and Via R. Livatino, where parking will be prohibited from 5 pm on Saturday 29 June to 3 am on Monday 1 July.

The shuttles will follow the route: ZIR terminus of Gazzi, via Adolfo Celi, via Sacra Famiglia for the drop-off of passengers, via R. Livatino, via 1A and return towards Gazzi. Private buses will access from the ring road and travel along the San Filippo junction, stopping along the perimeter road of the stadium or along the connecting road to the San Filippo junction.

Ordinance of Mayor Basile

To guarantee public safety, the mayor Federico Basile issued union ordinance n. 93 of 6 June 2024 which provides:

  • Ban on the Sale of Alcohol and Glass Containers: The sale and administration of alcoholic beverages exceeding 5% and drinks in cans or glass containers within a radius of 500 meters from the stadium is prohibited. Only paper or plastic containers permitted.
  • Prohibition of Itinerant Trade: Street vending is prohibited along the external perimeter of the stadium and along the link road to the San Filippo motorway junction.
  • Ban on ticket touting: Illegal buying and selling of tickets within a 3km radius of the stadium is prohibited.

Security measures

There will be local police and volunteers on duty to ensure compliance with the regulations and general safety. Spectators are encouraged to follow the directions to avoid inconvenience and ensure a pleasant experience during the event.

With these measures, Messina is preparing to safely welcome Zucchero’s great musical event, ensuring that all participants can enjoy the show in peace.
