First MRI unit delivered

A magnetic resonance unit was delivered on Tuesday 25 June at the San Giovanni Evangelista Hospital in Tivoli. Located on the -1 floor of the Corpo Vecchio, the machine is the first ever installed inside the hospital and was financed with funds allocated for the Jubilee 2025.

The installation of the MRI began immediately after delivery and will last approximately 7-10 days. After this period of time, the testing operations will also begin, which will be conducted by the Siemens company, which supplied the MRI, and will last for approximately one month. At the same time, a specialized construction company, immediately after the passage of the machinery, will also complete the work in the support rooms in approximately 30 days.

This is a very important implementation not only for Tivoli Hospital, but also for the entire area of ASL Roma 5 because so far there have never been active public MRIs. This condition, for years, has had consequences on patients, especially those in difficult situations or coming from internal areas, who have been forced to go to larger centers or private facilities.

Furthermore, by the end of September, the L. Parodi Delfino Hospital in Colleferro will also have its magnetic resonance unit delivered, again financed with Jubilee 2025 funds. A situation which will improve the healthcare provision of citizens who, in two nerve centers of the ‘ASL, will be able to take advantage of this important advanced diagnostic tool.
