The Supermarkt Stars 2024 festival has just been celebrated in Frankfurt, a traditional appointment with German large-scale retail operators, who appreciated the three PDO Piacenza cured meats: Coppa Piacentina, Pancetta Piacenza and Salame Piacenza. In the splendid setting of the Palmengarten in Frankfurt, the highlight of the summer in the world of retail sales in Germany was celebrated. Supermarkt Stars, organized by the publisher of the Lebensmittel Zeitung and Direkt newspapers, leaders in trade communication in Germany, once again proved to be the elite meeting of the food retail sector in this country so important for the Italian export and was enriched by a series of interesting conferences.

Finally, numerous sponsors, including international ones, were present with their own stands at the event. Among these, the participation of the Consortium for the Protection of PDO Piacentini Salumi was highlighted, present with its own area dedicated to the tasting of Coppa Piacentina, Salame Piacentino and Pancetta Piacentina. The Consortium team, led by Lorella Ferrari – secretary of the Piacentini Salumi Consortium, saw the participation of Lorenzo Sgorbani, independent collaborator of the Consortium and the on-site support of the German interpreter Stefania Lettini, had a hard time administering tastings and informing the many interested in the qualitative and distinctive characteristics of the three PDO Piacenza cured meats. «A new experience of the Consorzio di Tutela Salumi Dop Piacentini – declared the president Antonio Grossetti, – in Germanic land which has long been committed to promoting the excellence of Piacenza delicatessen also abroad to gain new commercial spaces in favor of its members».

A series of inspiring talks by industry experts also provided new perspectives for the food retail sector. In front of an attentive audience of over 400 industry experts, Corinne Kretschmar-Joehnk and James Ardinast provided insights into store design with consumer well-being in mind, while James Ardinast explained why customers are increasingly looking for fulfilling experiences. Also interesting were the insights provided by Semai Akale (Rewe), Kevin Schneevoigt (Edeka) and Jennifer Kattwinkel (Rewe). Finally, the closing talk by memory champion Nikolai Konrad amazed and demonstrated how learning can be fascinating and fun. A jury of experts awarded the store managers and directors of the leading German retail chains in the three categories: Store Manager; House Manager; Team and Young Entrepreneur of the Year.
