The Tour de France is the major men’s professional road cycling stage race, which takes place annually along the roads of France. The third stage of the sporting event will start in Piacenza. 4,500 people are expected for the occasion, including cyclists, organizers, technical staff, advertising caravan staff and journalists. To these must be added the approximately 20 thousand people estimated as the public for this third stage which will take cyclists from Piacenza to Turin.
Territorial emergency 118 of Piacenza led by Enrica Rossi e Stefano Nanihas prepared an action plan that aims to adapt the health response to the significant increase in the population, guaranteeing the daily routine of the Emergency Department and Territorial Emergency activities.

Over 200 operators in the field
On Monday 1st July, in the area affected by the demonstration, especially in the Tour village and in the streets of the historic centre, approximately 200 health workers and logistics workers deployed by the ASL, Anpas and the Red Cross. The operators will be positioned with teams or medical aid points with different operational structures. On the field they will be engaged: 15 rescue teams on footmade up of 2 operators each who will take care of the assistance of both the public at the event and the people who live along the city route of the tour; 8 emergency ambulances dedicated ambulances distributed along the route of the demonstrations, in strategic points of the event: 6 ambulances in the downtown area and 2 along the Via Emilia in San Nicolò and Castel San Giovanni; 1 self-nursing”.
