Piazza del Plebiscito closed off this evening in Naples for the concert of Tropicwhich will also have many other singers as guests, such as Elisa, Achille Lauro, Ghali and Franco125, just to name a few. The appointment is at 8.40 pm in the historic center square near the seafront, where the stage has been set up for the June concert season in Naples. The square will not be closed to pedestrians as happened yesterday, on the occasion of Radio Italia Live in Naples 2024. But there will still be important limitations on the circulation of vehicles.
The ordinance with the traffic plan
The concert of Tropico, stage name of the Neapolitan singer-songwriter Davide Petrella, will begin at 8:40 pm in Piazza del Plebiscito. The Municipality has prepared the ordinance with the traffic plan. The device will be in force today, Friday 28 June 2024, and provides:
A) from 6.00 pm on the day affected by the concert until the needs cease the following day:

The ban on vehicular transit:
- in the roadways of Piazza del Plebiscito in front of the Prefecture building and the Comiliter building (Palazzo Salerno);
- in via Solitaria, piazzetta Salazar and rampe Paggeria except: residents’ vehicles, vehicles with an “H” permit with a disabled person on board, police vehicles and emergency and rescue vehicles, which will circulate in one-way alternating traffic;
- in via San Carlo and in piazza Trieste e Trento, except: residents’ vehicles, vehicles equipped with an “H” permit with a disabled person on board, police vehicles, emergency and rescue vehicles and vehicles used for non-scheduled public transport (taxis) parked in the lane reserved for them in via San Carlo, in front of the theatre of the same name, where they can stop and travel in the direction from piazza Trieste e Trento to piazza Municipio;
- via San Nicola da Tolentino, from the intersection with Corso Vittorio Emanuele, and in Rampe Brancaccio from the intersection with Via Vito Fornari, except: residents’ vehicles, vehicles with the “H” sign with a disabled person on board, vehicles directed to authorized garages, law enforcement vehicles and emergency and rescue vehicles;
One-way traffic:
- in Piazza Carolina, from the confluence of Via Giovanni Serra to Via Chiaia
- in via Chiaia, from the confluence of piazza Carolina and piazza Trieste e Trento;
B) from 1.00 pm on the day of the concert until the end of the following day, the suspension in Piazza Carolina of the area reserved for parking of vehicles used for non-scheduled public transport (taxis);
C) from 08:00 on the day of the concert until the end of the following day, the suspension in via San Carlo and in via Cesario Console of the area reserved for stopping vehicles used for collective public transport in urban line service;
D) from 00:01 on the day affected by the concert until the needs cease on the following day, the parking ban with forced removal and the suspension of reserved and paid parking (blue lines) in:
Piazza Trieste e Trento, Via San Carlo, except for vehicles used for non-scheduled public transport (taxis) with a parking area in front of the theatre of the same name, Via Riccardo Filangieri Candida di Gonzaga, Via Vittorio Emanuele III, Via Acton, in the section between the Galleria Vittoria and Via Cesario Console, Piazzetta Carolina, Via Gennaro Serra, Via Cesario Console, Via Nazario Sauro, Paggeria ramps.
The sale of alcohol is prohibited
Furthermore, the Municipality of Naples has banned the sale of drinks in glass, rigid plastic, can and tetrapak containers or any other rigid material, allowing them to be sold only in light plastic or paper cups on the occasion of the Tropico concert on the 28th. June 2024, in Piazza del Plebiscito.
The ordinance provides:
the ban on the sale of beverages in glass containers, rigid plastic, cans and tetrapak or any other rigid material, allowing their sale only in light plastic or paper cups, from 12.00 on the day of the concerts and until the next day, in Piazza del Plebiscito and surrounding areas. Violations of this ordinance will be punished with an administrative fine of €25.00 to €500.00
