It is a tribute to the genius of Giacomo Puccini within the historic walls of his city, in the year of the centenary celebrations, the “Puccini according to Muti” concert, which Rai Cultura broadcasts live from Lucca on Friday 28 June at 9.20pm on Rai 3 in worldwide vision. Maestro Riccardo Muti directs the “Cherubini” youth orchestra which, on the occasion of the twentieth anniversary of its foundation, exceptionally presents itself with a staff of 120 musicians. On stage the great voices of Eleonora Buratto, Lidia Fridman, Mariangela Sicilia, Luciano Ganci, Dmitry Korchak and Francesco Meli.
On the program are pages of the most beloved masterpieces: Symphonic Prelude, Madama Butterfly “Un bel dì visto” sung by Eleonora Buratto, Tosca “Recondita armonia” and “E lucevan le stelle” entrusted to Luciano Ganci, “Vissi d’arte” performed by Eleonora Buratto, La bohème “Che gelida manina” with the voice of Dmitry Korchak, joined by Mariangela Sicilia for the duet “O soave fanciulla” and for the aria “Donde lieta”, La fanciulla del West with “Ch’ella mi creda ” sung by Francesco Meli, Suor Angelica “Senza mamma” is entrusted to Lidia Fridman, Turandot “Tu che di gel sei cinta” is sung by Eleonora Buratto and Manon Lescaut with the famous Intermezzo and the entire Fourth Act sung by Lidia Fridman and Francesco Meli.
The Concert, presented by Serena Autieri, on the occasion of the year dedicated to the celebrations of Giacomo Puccini, is organized by the Ministry of Culture in collaboration with the Municipality of Lucca for the Promotion Committee of the Puccini Celebrations and the Teatro del Giglio, in collaboration with Rai Cultura, SIAE, LuccaSummerFestival and “D’Alessandro e Galli”.
