The rules of Sanremo Giovani 2025 are available online from today, Thursday, June 27.

The next edition of Sanremo Giovani brings with it many new features, as announced by the artistic director Carlo Conti. The 2025 edition will be more streamlined and dynamic, with particular attention to young talents.

One of the main changes concerns the age of the participants. For this edition, the age of participation has been lowered: now young artists can register from 16 to 26 years old, compared to the limit of 30 years old in the previous edition.

This decision aims to engage a younger and more promising age group, giving them a significant launching platform.

How does it work?

Sanremo Giovani will be divided into five second evenings on Rai2, dedicated to musical challenges:

November 12, 19, 26 and December 3: each evening will see 6 artists perform live with their songs. Only 3 of them will go through to the next round.

10 December: semi-final in which the 12 selected artists will be reduced to 6, to which will be added 2 artists from the Sanremo Area competition.

The final challenge will be held on December 18th in prime time on Rai 1, broadcast live from the Sanremo Casino.

Why was the “New Proposals” category reintroduced?

On this occasion, 8 potential New Proposals will compete for the opportunity to perform in February during the Sanremo Festival 2025.

However, only 4 artists (three from Sanremo Giovani and one from Area Sanremo) will have the privilege of taking the stage at the Ariston Theater from 4 to 8 February for Sanremo 75.

«The reintroduction of the New Proposals category, separate from that of the Big, is intended to constitute a concrete moment of further valorization of young people», explains Carlo Conti.

«The model that has been identified, and also the lowering of the chronological age, serves to build a growth path lasting three months, between the various steps of Sanremo Giovani».
