Monday 1st July, with the first evening opening of the weekly market in via Portoghese, the evening market season kicks off, organised again this year thanks to the collaboration between the Department of Economic Development and the trade unions and employers’ associations of the markets.
Below is the calendar of the openings scheduled for the first week of July and the first week of August, as foreseen by the strategic trade document.
· 1 July – 5 August Via Portoghese market

· 3 July – 7 August markets in the new Santo Spirito area / via Cadiz Partigiani Japigia / Torre a Mare
· July 4th – August 8th Lorusso square market, San Pasquale

· July 5 – August 9 market via De Ribera, San Paolo.
The markets will be operational from late afternoon.
“The evening markets are a heritage that should not be lost and that will continue to offer citizens shopping and social opportunities in a new form, which in recent years has rewarded the economic operators who, together with us, have been able to take up this new challenge – comments the Councilor for Economic Development, Carla Palone -. We have invested heavily in trade as a lever of sociality, trying to reconcile the working hours of market traders with the life hours of citizens, promoting opportunities and new forms of meeting between supply and demand. So we also tried to create a new clientele in the city markets, which we hope will also gain loyalty thanks to initiatives like this and help our markets grow”.
