Asp of Reggio Calabria, tomorrow the inauguration of the first territorial operations center

REGGIO CALABRIA Tomorrow, Friday 28 June, at 11 am, the first Territorial Operations Center (Cot) of the Provincial Health Authority of Reggio Calabria within the provincial territory will be inaugurated. The new Central, located in the premises of the health facility in via Willermin, is the first of the 6 Cot planned by the Asp of Reggio Calabria with the funds of the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (Pnrr). Present at the inauguration will be: the general director of the ASP of Reggio, Lucia Di Furia (in the photo); the Extraordinary Commissioner of Azienda Zero, Gandolfo Miserendino; the Extraordinary Commissioner of the Great Metropolitan Hospital of Reggio Calabria, Gianluigi Scaffidi; Luciano Squillaci representing third sector bodies; Rubens Curia of Competent Community; the regional councilor Giovanni Muraca, as well as representatives of the Metropolitan Municipality of Reggio Calabria. The activation of this important structure, thanks to the technological model with which it is equipped, will make it possible to connect hospitals and local services, for example by improving the protected discharge of fragile subjects towards their return home or to other local healthcare facilities. This system will be launched gradually and its effectiveness tested before bringing the other Territorial Operations Centers into operation. The new Cot will be managed entirely by nursing staff who have been trained in recent months, thus guaranteeing qualified and continuous care of patients. The structure will also liaise with the Melacrino-Morelli Hospital regarding discharges protected by the same company which is notable for the highest number of hospitalizations of patients residing in the City of Reggio Calabria. In the first months it will be active for six days and only in the morning; this launch will allow us to test the system and model responses based on needs. Once fully operational, it will be active full time, 7 days a week. Cot is designed to optimize the coordination of care for people, identifying the most suitable care path for each patient. Furthermore, it is included in the future Community House planned in the same building in via Willermin, which, after the logistical reorganization of the blood sampling point, adds a further element for the improvement of care. This is what we read in a note from the Provincial Health Authority of Reggio Calabria.
