The singer-songwriter from Legnano Renato Franchi among the finalists at the Targhe Tenco 2024

Also the Legnanese Renato Franchi is among the finalists at the Targhe Tenco 2024 in the “Best project album” category with “17 red threads + 1 – Remembering Piazza Fontana“, an album containing 11 songs and 5 monologues dedicated to the Milan massacre of 12 December 1969 and to Giuseppe Pinelli, published by the record company Latlantide.

Among the artists who took part in this project of high civil and artistic value we remember, in addition to Franchi himself, author of the title track, Gang, Yo Yo Mundi, Daniele Biacchessi, Moni Ovadia, Alessio Lega, Filippo Andreani and many other exponents of songwriting and theater of social commitment.

This is the singer-songwriter’s comment following the recognition obtained: «The Club Tenco, the plaques, the songs, everything seemed so “far, far away” as Luigi sang, but today we are here with an album made up of many voices in the musical firmament, to scratch the wind and the rust of time. An important artistic recognition, which moves us for the memory and memory traced in the furrows of history by our “17 red threads + 1”to never forget the innocent victims of Piazza Fontana and all the massacres that occurred in our country.”

The “five” finalists, selected by a jury of over 300 music journalists, were announced by Club Tenco (which, founded in 1974, is celebrating 50 years since its foundation and the first Songwriter Review which was held in Sanremo in July half a century ago) at the end of the counting of votes in the first round. In the first phase, in fact, the jurors voted among all the records released in the year, expressing up to three preferences per section.

In the second phase, in a sort of ballot, the jury will decide who among the five titles that received the highest number of votes in each section will be the winner of the respective Plaque. The jurors can vote freely both on what they heard during the year and on what the candidates uploaded to the dedicated platform.
