Fatal attack in Terni: Luca Bruschini dies after four months of agony
Luca Bruschini, well-known entrepreneur of Spoleto, died yesterday after a long battle against the serious injuries suffered in an attack suffered on 15 February. Admitted to the intensive care unit of the Santa Maria hospital in Terni, Bruschini fought for his life for over four months, but eventually his condition worsened, leading to his death.
Bruschini, 40 years old, was co-manager together with his father of Ternicolor in via Natta, a historic paint and accessories company for body shops. The attack took place right in the company square, however hand of a former collaborator of Cuban origin and Italian citizenship who has been resident in Terni for many years. The man attacked Bruschini with a machete, hitting him three times in the head.
On the evening of February 15, Bruschini was leaving his company with a colleague when he was attacked from behind. Immediately rescued and rushed to the hospital, the entrepreneur was admitted to the intensive care unit in critical condition. His family, along with the many who knew and respected him, hoped that he would recover.
The attacker wandered around for an hour, throwing away the weapon used in the attack and returning then to his home, near the Terni train station. Subsequently, he decided to hand himself over to the carabinieri at the Via Radice barracks, declaring: “I stabbed a man, I have to answer for what I did.”
During the interrogation flanked by his lawyer Andrea Petrucci, alternated moments of lucidity with phases of delirium. You claimed to have felt it denigrated and defamed, which would lead to LOSE control and take the extreme action. The initial charge of attempted murder and possession of weapons is now destined to become a murder charge, given Bruschini’s death.
The man had resigned from Ternicolor on February 9, considering himself unappreciated and persecuted by some members of the company. This state of discomfort psychological and the accumulated anger led him to plan and implement the attack against Bruschini.
Luca Bruschini was a well-known and respected figure in Spoleto, where he lived with his parents. The local community is mourning his tragic and untimely death. The entrepreneur’s body is now in disposition of the prosecution for further investigations. The murder of Bruschini he leaves a deep void in those who knew and respected him, underlining once again the absurdity of the violence that ended his life.
