“Tari blow for restaurants, bars and fruit and vegetables with increases of up to 40%”

Viterbo – Municipality – Andrea Micci (Lega) disputes the figures presented by budget councilor Angiani on the increase in the Tari in the commission: “It will be a blow for some activities” – Increases in prices for families too

Viterbo – “Stingata Tari, increases of up to 40% for restaurants, bars and fruit and vegetables”. A real drain on the bill, calculated by councilor Andrea Micci (Lega) yesterday morning in the second commission, after the numbers, or rather the percentages proposed by councilor Elena Angiani (Budget), had not convinced him at all.

Under discussion, the adjustment of the waste tax. Inflation and higher costs require the citizens of Viterbo to adjust their bills.

Viterbo – Municipality – Second commission – Buzzi and Angiani

“Once Viterbo Ambiente communicates the data to us, it is not possible to intervene, these are decisions taken by the Arera authority”. Not as dramatic as some rumors that have been circulating, Angiani is keen to point out: “The increase compared to 2023 is on average 6%, we are not at the alarming numbers that have been circulating. The amount changes based on the user. For some it will remain unchanged, for others it will reach an increase of 10-12%.

It’s impossible to do simulations, there are too many variables, but it’s easy to hypothesize a rise in the bill from 20 to 130-140 euros.

However, upon closer inspection, or rather, upon careful calculation, during the debate in the commission, that average percentage rose to 7.48%. Not the last leavening.

The situation is different for commercial activities. For some types, the word bloodletting is the closest to what awaits them.

Andrea Micci

“Currently – explains Micci – the activities that pay the most are restaurants, bars, canteens, fruit and vegetables, market stalls. The average increase they will find is 38%, but then the provincial surcharge, a fixed contribution, must be added. That will also increase, because it is calculated on a higher figure. For some businesses it will be a blow.” 40% is reached. Interventions from the municipal administration are needed.

“Last year, 150 thousand euros were allocated to reduce the tariff, with the administrative surplus – Micci recalls – an electoral spot that served no purpose. This year, a much more massive intervention would be needed by what is increasingly shaping up as the tax administration”.
