More than three years later, Alessandro Zaccone has taken his second victory in MotoE. The rider clearly dominated the second race of the Dutch GP in Assen, held on Saturday.

Early in the race, Kevin Zannoni (Openbank Aspar) was stronger than Zaccone (Tech3 E-Racing), overtaking the pole position driver on the way to the first corner. Once again, Héctor Garzó (Dynavolt Intact GP) placed third.

Already in the first lap, Zaccone regained the lead, while Nicholas Spinelli (Tech3 E-Racing) crashed at turn 7, retiring from the race. In the lead, Zaccone managed to build an advantage, while Zannoni tried to resist Garzó and Jordi Torres (Openbank Aspar), eventually slipping to third place at the end of the second lap.

With four laps to go, Zaccone already had a lead of over two seconds, appearing to have the race under control as the battle for second place continued intensely with a large group of riders. Positions changed rapidly and with three laps to go, Garzó was second ahead of Torres and Manfredi.

However, shortly afterwards, Torres managed to move up to second place, while Óscar Gutiérrez (Axxis-MSi) overtook Garzó to take third place. Manfredi dropped to sixth. However, everything was still open and on lap six, Gutiérrez overtook Torres… as well as Garzó and later Lukas Tulovic (Dynavolt Intact GP).

With an overtake under yellow flags, Garzó had to give up a position on the last lap, leaving Tulovic on the podium. However, the Spaniard managed to recover on the last lap.

There were no further changes in the podium positions until the end. Zaccone won, beating Gutiérrez by a clear 1.909 seconds. Garzó finished third ahead of Tulovic, while Torres closed the top five. Mattia Casadei (LCR E-Team) only managed eighth place, but continues to lead the championship after the Dutch GP.
