VITERBO – In retreat in Viterbo, to prepare for the World Cup stage (which will be closed by the World Team Saber and Category C World Championships) in Warsaw, with a view to the Paralympics in Paris, the Italian national paralympic fencing team was a guest of the evening yesterday of Ombre Festival, a cultural event which dedicated the theme “Zero alibi” in the presence of the entire Italian delegation.

The athletes led by the Coordinator of the FIS Paralympic sector, Dino Meglio, and by the Technical Commissioners Simone Vanni for the foil, Francesco Martinelli for the épée and Marco Ciari for the sabre, in collegiate training in the splendid location of the Hotel Salus Terme, were the protagonists of interesting, and at times touching, sporting and life testimonies in the presence of a large audience and a large group of city authorities, above all the mayor Chiara Fortini and the councillor for the quality of urban spaces Emanuele Aronne, supporter of the partnerships with the Italian Fencing Federation.

Yesterday morning the federal President Paolo Azzi also visited the team during the work sessions, welcomed by councilor Aronne, expressing his thanks to the Municipality and the Viterbo area for the affectionate welcome. He was also present with a French crew from “France TV Rome” for a reportage in view of the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games.

In the afternoon the coordinator Dino Meglio participated in an important conference on the topic of accessibility of accommodation facilities (photo below)while on the Ombre Festival evening the President of the Lazio Regional Committee, Claudio Fontana, was representing the FIS.
