From tennis to basketball, from triathlon to windsurfing but also classic cars, regattas and marathons. The municipal council approved the resolution signed by the sports councilor Alessandro Anello on the sporting events to be promoted in 2024. A calendar of 28 events, until December, admitted to support based on the notice published in April on the institutional website of the Municipality .
The July calendar includes the XVI The Shock (Asd Strong gym B Muaythai Palermo) from 5th to 7th; from 13th to 21st the 35th Palermo Ladies Open (ASD Country Time). In August, from the 20th to the 25th, the XIX Palermo-Monte Carlo sailing regatta (ASD Circolo della Vela Sicilia). In September, the 7th and 8th, the Norman Zarcone Memorial (Asd Sport); day 13 Baskets with Malta (ASD Stella basketball); day 22 the 14th Salvo D’Acquisto Running Memorial (ASD Polisportiva Pegaso); from 27th to 29th the 5th Claudia Riva Memorial 2nd Morelli Memorial (ASD Verga); from 29 to 5 October the Etna Raid (ASD Scuderia del Mediterraneo). In October, day 16, the Coppa IX Palermo International Half Marathon (ASD Kalaja); on the 12th and 13th the Superseries Tournament (ASD Piume D’Argento); day 20 the XI International Half Marathon (Asd Agex); from 25th to 27th the first Maurizio Zamparini Trophy (ASD Sport Palermo); day 27 the X Wheelchair Marathon (ASD Salvatore Balistreri). In November from 9th to 17th the 60th Mediterranean Sailing Week (Roggero di Lauria Rowing Club); on the 9th and 10th the City of Palermo 2024 Olympic Triathlon (ASD Extrwema); day 17 the XXIX City Marathon of Palermo (Asd Media@). In December, the 27th and 28th, the 2nd Edition On Ice (SSD Big Ice).
“Through the co-organization of events – says the sports councilor Alessandro Anello – the municipal administration supports sports clubs and associations for a series of services such as the concession of public land, assistance from the municipal police, in addition to the patronage that gives an institutional value to the various initiatives”.
In May and June, pending the council resolution, the Water Festival, Strapapà, 108th Targa Florio, Mondello Cup, 33rd Ed. Giro di Sicilia – La Sicilia dei Florio, 20th Italian Windsurf Open Championship were held. Baskets of legality, 8th Olympia Palermo Trophy, 8th Equilibra-Memorial Nunzio Ganci Trophy, anti-racist Mediterranean and XXIV Batizato and Troca De Cordao.
