A significant ceremony in homage to the Fallen took place at the Major Cemetery of Padua, during which the recent redevelopment of the tombs housed in the area of the cemetery known as the Military Square was inaugurated. The redevelopment intervention, made possible thanks to the initiative of the Northern Operational Forces Command of the Army, in coordination with the Office for the Protection of Culture and Memory of the Defense and the Municipal Administration of Padua, involved fifty-one burials particularly dated, whose conservation conditions were such as to require urgent renovation work, which was achieved by replacing the tombstones with white metal crosses. The access paths to the tombs and the adjacent areas of relevance were also redeveloped.

After a moment of contemplation and reflection, inspired by the words of Monsignor Sergio Siddi, Vicar General of the Military Ordinariate in Italy, the blessing of the crosses and the laying of a laurel wreath took place. The event was attended by civil and military authorities, including the Prefect of Padua, HE Francesco Messina, the Mayor of the city, Sergio Giordani, the Commander of the Northern Operational Forces, Army Corps General Maurizio Riccò, as well as representatives of the Associations Combat and weapons and military chaplains of the Veneto. The redevelopment intervention is part of a broader project of renewal and regeneration of the entire Military Square, where fallen soldiers in various eras rest.
