The former councilor of Moncalieri Laura Pompeo joins the Regional Council. The proclamation by the Court has just arrived, whose recount of the ballots overturns the initial result of the Democratic Party candidates. The last of the elected was in fact the former mayor of Collegno Francesco Casciano. But the recount of the ballots by the Court proclaimed Laura Pompeo in his place.
“I am very satisfied with the result. I will put all my effort into it, as I did as councilor of Moncalieri for nine years. I will make my skills and commitment available not only in the metropolitan area (as has already been the case in this long period) but throughout the Region,” he declared.
The good news arrives for Pompeo after the bitterest ending of the dispute with the mayor of Moncalieri, Paolo Montagna, who just two days ago decided to fire her from the council and replace her with former regional councilor Antonella Parigi. An epilogue that came after months of jabs in the newspapers and mutual accusations.
Pompeo’s entry into the Regional Council “rebalances” the group: they will be at Palazzo Lascaris six from the Bonaccini area and six from the Schlein area; to the latter is added the centre-left candidate Gianna Pentenero, elected with her civic list, but who aims to become group leader of the Democratic Party.
