Forlì, over 150 thousand home-work trips made by bike, the Municipality renews the incentives

With 569,292.49 km cycled from April 2022 to 20 June 2024, the rewarding initiative promoted by the Municipality of Forlì to provide concrete resources to those who use bicycles on their home-work journey was a great success among the participants, over 950, so to be decided by the Administration on the extension until next September 30th.

“To date – declares councilor Giuseppe Petetta – 151,276 home-work/work-home trips have been made, for a total of 79,437.39 kg of C02 saved; 294 users even reached the maximum amount that can be paid out, thus exhausting their experience within the bike to work initiative”.

“In light of the great enthusiasm that this project has aroused among the people of Forlì, we have decided to continue with the provision of a contribution, in the form of a reimbursement, for those who choose to use the bicycle to go to work, until September 30, 2024.”

The expected incentive is 20 euro cents per kilometer of the home-work journey and vice versa, with a maximum ceiling of 50 euros/month respectively and with a total maximum ceiling recognizable equal to €250.00/each. Only the route made using your own bicycle is subject to calculation of the incentive, with a daily minimum of 1.5 KM. The route is calculated through a specific App, which is able to monitor the behavior of users and verify their movements on a monthly and daily basis.

“This initiative too – concludes the councilor – is part of a broader plan in terms of cycling in the area contained within the “Bicipolitana di Forlì”, aimed at increasingly promoting the use of bicycles in daily urban travel. ”
