“Renatino De Pedis was killed with a gunshot from behind by Aldo Ercolano after a dispute over issues of money that De Pedis laundered and it was money in which Cosa Nostra Catania was interested”. Before the meeting in Rome with De Pedis Avola specified that “prior authorization had been requested and obtained from the people of Palermo”. “I accompanied Aldo Ercolano, we left for Rome and he killed him. When De Pedis turned and left he (Ercolano, ed.) shot him.”
