Lots of rain yesterday but no particular intervention by the Fire Brigade in the city and province, unlike what is happening in Emilia Romagna where the men of the Cremona command are intervening to assist their colleagues for the flooding of waterways.

In Cremona around 7pm they intervened in a house in Corso Garibaldi and at 8pm in Lungo Po Europa due to a stranded raft. In via Dante, due to leaks from the upper floor, an apartment on the first floor was flooded.
Yesterday was the day with the heaviest rainfall of the entire month of June in the city. At least 62 mm of rain fell over the 24 hours according to monitoring by 3bmeteo, the third consecutive day of intermittent rain, in a very rainy month, and with a maximum temperature yesterday of 22.7 degrees.
However, no precipitation is forecast for the city today.

As the 3bmeteo experts explain, “this specific event is caused by an unusual cyclonic circulation for the summer period, generated by the descent of a vortex of fresh air at high altitude over the Tyrrhenian Sea (…) A key element in this event is the blocked configuration of the ‘atmosphere. This situation describes a scenario in which weather systems, such as high and low pressures, move slowly or remain stationary for a prolonged period in a reversed circulation; anticyclones are positioned high in latitude, while low pressures are found in the Mediterranean. In this case, the blocked configuration trapped the vortex over the Tyrrhenian Sea, favoring the continuous influx of cloud systems towards Emilia-Romagna, causing persistent rain.” gb
