It’s as old as rock ‘n’ roll, but “Romagna mia” the Romagna anthem par excellence published by Secondo Casadei 71 years ago, in 1953, it overcame stereotypes and appropriations unscathed, to always resurface whenever there was a need – even in the midst of the mud of the flood in 2023, when it gave voice to the spirit of these lands , wounded but not broken and unfailingly supportive.
Thursday 27 June, at 9.30 pm in the Arena of the Stadio dei Pini in Cervia-Milano Marittima, Ravenna Festival pays homage to My Romagna with a new appointment de Trebbo in music 2.4, the special event organized in collaboration with the Municipality of Cervia and with the contribution of the Cooperativa Bagnini. After the conversation by Pierfrancesco Pacoda with Riccarda Casadei, Vince Vallicelli and the Ruvidi will be on stage, the group that debuted last year with a tribute album to Secondo Casadei, violinist, composer and conductor who introduced the popular music of his homeland, Romagna, to the general public.
The Trebbo in music continues Sunday 30 June With the’Homage to Piero Piccionia project by his son Jason entrusted – on the twentieth anniversary of the death of the author of over 300 soundtracks of Italian cinema – toOrchestra 014. Piccioni, whose name is linked above all to Francesco Rosi and Alberto Sordi, was perhaps the most jazzy of the composers who worked for the big screen. In 1949 he played in New York with Charlie Parker and Max Roach: inevitably, he would bring that vital vibration into the irreverent world of the so-called Italian comedy.
