During SMAU, Camera Marche launches the notice on the issues of double transition in line with the Ministry’s transition plan 5.0.
Digital skills
The Marche is a territory that seeks digital skills: in 2023 out of 140,630 expected job entries, without distinction of production sector, 81,260 involve the ability to use digital skills, in 75% of cases high-level skills are required, considered difficult to find in the ‘over half of cases. This emerges from investigations conducted by the Statistics Office of the Marche Chamber of Commerce on Excelsior data, which confirm a trend in our region looking for a share of digital skills among those under 30 that is higher than the Italian average; Unfortunately, the difficulty in finding figures capable of applying 4.0 technologies is also high.
Transition 5.0 of the Ministry and the Camera Marche Announcement
This is while the new digital plan launched by the Government speaks of a 5.0 transition, a unique project in Europe, as underlined by Minister Urso, because it refers to two transitions, the digital one and the green one, and also reserves attention and resources for the training aspect: yes deals with issues that are close to the heart of Camera Marche; therefore the body, on the eve of SMAU Marche, and during the working days of the general states of innovation in Ascoli, presents the new measure calibrated precisely on the direction indicated by the National Plan.
This is the first call (with a financial endowment of 800,000 euros) to incentivize energy efficiency and the circular economy of SMEs in the Marche region, financing the purchase of advanced consulting and certification services by SMEs for process and product innovation.
The tender also covers the expenses for training activities relating to the participation of entrepreneurs and their collaborators in courses whose program is attributable to the management of circular economy tools, among others: Product Life Cycle Analysis (LCA ), the organization’s Carbon Footprint (CFO), the ECOLABEL of the product or service (for example tourist services).
Green training that innovators need
An important aspect in consideration of the forecast according to which in Italy between 2021 and 2025 the need for intermediate green skills of companies and the Public Administration will be between 2.2 and 2.4 million workers, approximately 63% of the need of the entire five-year period. The demand for green jobs will transversally affect both technical and highly specialized professions and the professional skills that revolve around the environment, eco-sustainability, energy saving and the circular economy will be increasingly in demand.
In the Marche region, since the last survey (end of 2023) by the chamber system, the annual growth of green jobs contracts has been +19.1 against an Italian average of 13.5%. The green workers in the Marche region (around 77,000) are 2.4% of the total Italian workers in the sustainability supply chain and represent 12.1% of the Marche workers in general.

Lack of start-ups, desire for digital
The most sustainable companies are those that innovate more and have better exchange opportunities with foreign countries; the Marche region suffers from a delay in terms of innovation compared to the country average: the survey conducted by Camera Marche through the Tagliacarne Institute indicates for our region a year-on-year percentage change (March 23/March 24) in the number of start-ups innovative ups recorded by -9.5% (where Italy, although negative, recorded -7.7%).
It is therefore the task of the Chamber of Commerce that takes care of the development of the territory to find solutions and synergies to support a lack but also a clear desire for digital widespread among SMEs in the Marche region.
