A proud Luciano Mariano on Thursday 20 June presented the 2023 mission budget of the Cassa di Risparmio di Alessandria Foundation which has disbursed almost 7 million 300 thousand euros to the territory of our province, compared to the 5 million disbursed in 2022. A result very important, but above all “comprehensive, constant, where you can see the widespread activity of the Foundation throughout the territory and in all sectors of expertise”.

In summary, last year’s disbursements amounted to 7 million 299,014 euros, responding positively to 421 requests for contributions out of the 499 submitted, divided as follows into the relevant sectors: •volunteering, philanthropy and charity with 3 million 562,366 euros, •art, activities and cultural heritage with 1,769,912 euros, •education, instruction, training with 981,621, •local development, social housing with 534,427 euros, •civil protection with 122,167 euros. Significant interventions were also carried out in the eligible sectors: •public health, preventive and rehabilitative medicine with 143,819 euros, •scientific and technological research with 128,200 euros, •environmental protection and quality with 45,500 euros, •care for the elderly with 11,000 euros. President Mariano also placed particularly important emphasis on the interventions that concerned Tortona and the Tortona area. Estate d’Istanti, an event organized as part of “Attraverso Festival” to animate the historic city center and Assaggiatortona, an initiative to promote typical products. The Perosi Festival which combines good music with the desire for social aggregation for the most fragile subjects. The national truffle fair of San Sebastiano Curone and the Mangialonga which enhances environmental paths. The legendary cycling tour for the Coppi hills that combines sport and food and wine. The energy adaptation of the Orsi Refuge on Mount Ebro which attracts thousands of tourists every summer. The after-school service offered to the students of the Sacro Cuore Don Orione of Tortona and the school education service of the San Giuseppe institute. The project of the Agape Cooperative which provides for the collection and transformation of used clothes, offering work to women from disadvantaged social contexts. • A multi-purpose vehicle for healthcare offered to the most vulnerable by the Misericordia of Tortona. • The redevelopment of the internal garden available to guests of the Mater Dei centre. • The creation of a day care center for those who seek the care of the Enrico Cucchi Association. Looking instead in general, Mariano reiterates the important role that the tenders have had: 5 of them were activated, the applications admitted to the financing were 192 compared to 1 million 345,499 euros disbursed. More specifically: •Music and Surroundings (fund 250,000 euros, 57 projects accepted). It promotes the growth and valorisation of the artistic and cultural heritage of the area. •History and memory (fund 350,000 euros, 42 projects accepted). It promotes the recovery of the historical and architectural heritage, its conservation and enhancement. •No one excluded (fund 400,000 euros, 32 projects accepted). It supports the condition of women and youth in precarious situations. It aims to improve the quality of life of elderly or disabled people. •Terre belle (fund 250,000 euros, 31 projects accepted). It enhances social, cultural, tourist and food and wine project initiatives with the aim of revitalizing the territories and respecting the environment. •Futura (fund 200,000 euros, 22 projects accepted). It promotes innovative projects aimed at helping adolescent students overcome critical issues or developing the quality of school technological equipment. Finally, the president wanted to take a look at the future: “The Foundation intends to focus its interventions on its own projects, i.e. those interventions characterized by having been directly conceived by the Foundation and implemented in partnership with other highly qualified and competent entities, considered suitable to collaborate to achieve the objective. Overall smaller resources will be allocated to Third Party Projects, in the belief that even small contributions can prove crucial for the continuity and, in fact, survival of initiatives strongly rooted in local traditions. The tenders will be re-proposed and major multi-year initiatives will continue such as the agreements with UPO and the “Vivaldi” Conservatory, the organization of exhibitions in the “broletto” of Palatium Vetus, attention to the development of the territory and the protection of the environment, to the weakest sections of the population, to the health of citizens. Satisfied with the results obtained, the Foundation will continue to finance its own project called “GRANDI BANDI” in 2024. New projects will be presented shortly in response to emerging local needs.
