UPDATE 6.25 AM: The day opens with the bridges over the Secchia in Modena still closed due to river levels which remain above the threshold established as a precaution. So for now there is no transit on High Bridge It is on Uccellino bridgebetween Modena and Soliera.
It also remains closed via Curtatona with the bridge over the Tiepido torrent, as they remain closed to traffic, by the Province, the old Navicello bridge along the branch of provincial road 255 e Motta bridge in Cavezzo, il San Martino bridge between San Prospero and Carpi e Poplar Bridge in San Poxidenio.
The reopening of the bridges to traffic will be possible when the river level drops below threshold 2 which corresponds to 8 meters at Ponte Alto. At the moment the level is around 10 metres. and the outflow is proving slow. However, lukewarm temperatures, which quickly dropped to the “yellow” threshold during the night, are no longer scary.
Throughout today, Wednesday 26 June, the Orange alert for critical hydraulic issues issued by the Regional Agency for Territorial Security and Civil Protection remains in force, while the Yellow alert for thunderstorms also continues.
Yesterday the flood of the Secchia well exceeded threshold 3 in Ponte Alto, reaching 11.06 meters at 4.30 pm and passing slowly through the night.
Monitoring of the Secchia and Panaro rivers and of all the waterways of the Modena hydraulic node was active throughout the night and today. For civil protection, the single integrated operations room in Marzaglia is active. Municipal technicians, Aipo technicians and Civil Protection volunteers are involved in monitoring the hydraulic node; the local police monitor the traffic. The coordination of the interventions is entrusted to the Coc, the municipal operations centre.
