POZZUOLI – What happened in Monterusciello where a hearse was stolen near the home of a deceased person is incredible. The episode occurred in via Allodi, in the “cooperative” area, where the operators of the “Cesarano” company had headed for a funeral scheduled for 3pm in the Sant’Artema church. Once they got off with the coffin, unknown persons managed to get inside the wagon which had recently been parked in the street and took it away.
THE THEFT – According to the reconstruction, at least two people were involved: after the theft, the stolen Maserati was “escorted” by a second car to the hill on Via Trepiccioni, between Licola and Monterusciello. Here, the hearse was then thrown backwards against a tree and damaged. Some residents noticed it, attracted by the presence of the large vehicle and the tire of a wheel that was along the road. There was no trace of the perpetrators of the theft on site, except for a few images captured by some cameras that captured a man getting out of the vehicle and getting into a second car. The Carabinieri of the operational unit of the Pozzuoli Company arrived on site and are investigating the incident. Various hypotheses are being examined, including retaliation against the Cesarano company, which owns the hearse and organized the funeral.
