TERAMO. Exactly two years after the transfer of the management of the blue lines to the Easy Help company, after a long trail of criticism and controversy, the courtesy notice also arrives in Teramo. This is the possibility for motorists to repay, within the day, the payment for excess parking when the ticket has expired. No more sanctions therefore, as has been the case all these months. The new measure came into force yesterday, as announced by the Municipality which underlines how this has arrived at the end of «a complex process and an in-depth discussion with the Prefecture, the traffic office, the local police and the legal profession, aimed at finding a solution that would balance the need to meet citizens with that of complying with the jurisprudence of the Supreme Court and arriving at a provision free from the risk of litigation or appeals”. From now on, when the traffic officer detects an expired ticket, he will issue a warning which will include a code that will allow the motorist to remedy his situation (by 8.30 pm), paying the amount due from the the ticket expires at the time it is regularized. This option will have a surcharge of three euros, “a sum lower than that requested by other entities”, explains the administration.
Payment for excess parking can be made via the parking meter, on the portalpagamenti.it website, or in the Teramo Parcheggi office in Piazzale San Francesco (open from Monday to Friday from 8am to 8pm and on Saturday from 8am to 2pm). The courtesy warning will only apply in the case of an expired ticket, while for the missing ticket, as required by the Highway Code, the relevant fine will remain. «An objective that cannot be taken for granted, achieved thanks to the collaboration of everyone, starting from Easy Help, and which is aimed at all those citizens who, after having parked, for reasons beyond their control, are unable to get their car back within the parking time. of expiration of the ticket”, commented the mayor Gianguido D’Alberto and the councillor Antonio Filipponi.
