Trieste – For about a week the technicians of the Alpine Rescue – Trieste station have been busy every day supporting the search for two missing elderly people who have not yet been found.

They are Bruno Makarovic and Stanka Mokole, aged 84 and 69, who disappeared respectively from Borgo San Sergio and Sales, of whom there has been no news for over ten days.

Meanwhile, on the morning of Sunday 23 June, between 8 and 11.30, there were also two consecutive interventions to recover as many women injured along paths, the first in Val Rosandra, the second in Duino Aurisina, on the Salvia path, both transported on a stretcher on the shoulders.

In this latest occurrence, an eighty-year-old woman was rescued between 10 and 11.30 am by ten technicians from the Trieste Alpine Rescue station together with the Fire Brigade after falling along the Salvia Path that she was walking along.

The lady, who is visually impaired, while walking hit her head on the trunk of a fallen tree placed across the path, losing her balance and falling to the ground. The impact caused her a probable fracture of the tibia.

The call to Nue112 was made by a passerby who found her on the ground. The rescuers reached her with the off-road vehicle, stabilized her limb, placed her on a scaffold and carried her for about 600 meters on their shoulders to the road to hand her over to the ambulance.
