Cosma Vela Ancona awarded this morning in the Marche Region

Ancona – The girls of Cosma Vela Ancona were received and awarded this morning in the Marche Region by the sports councilor Chiara Biondi for their promotion to the A1 series, the highest expression of Italian women’s water polo. Together with the councilor Chiara Biondi there were the regional councilor Marco Ausili, the president of Coni Marche, Fabio Luna, and the president of the Federnuoto delle Marche, Fausto Aitelli, who joined in the greeting and the ceremony which saw many of the protagonists of the recently concluded season, accompanied by coach Milko Pace, president Igor Pace and vice president Andrea Consolani. «Thank you for the emotions, thank you for your results – said Chiara Biondi – the sport of the Marche region is giving us great satisfaction. Just this morning we presented the regional program with all the various measures, the funds that we make available to the sporting world. Sport, beyond the results, is a training ground for life that contributes to the development and growth of our children. Thanks to you, especially because you are women and I, as a woman, particularly appreciate it.

Congratulations to everyone for this extraordinary result.” «Welcome back to A1 – added Fausto Aitelli – after the previous promotion and the difficult years of Covid. This year they returned, in a difficult year, given the prolonged closure of the Passetto swimming pool. They played in Senigallia and will continue to do so there, probably, because Ancona does not currently have an indoor swimming pool that can accommodate the public.” «I thank the Region for continuing these meetings with the excellences of our territory – declared Fabio Luna – with those companies or athletes who give us the best satisfaction and the fact that we often find ourselves here means that there is liveliness in the sporting results of the Marche. What they did is something exceptional, also considering the difficulties faced throughout the season.” «Thanks to councilor Biondi and councilor Ausili for this award ceremony and for this opportunity – concluded Igor Pace –. Water polo is a traditional sport and the Marche doesn’t have a lot of it, compared to other historical regions. So every time we obtain important results like this, it is a source of great pride for us professionals. A sport of great sacrifice, even more so for women. These girls were amazing. For us it is the beginning of a very challenging season that we will face head on with the colors of the Marche and our city.”
