It was confirmed yesterday that Marco Bezzecchi will leave the Pertamina Enduro VR46 Racing Team at the end of 2024 to join Aprilia Racing, in what will be the Italian’s first experience without a Ducati since arriving in MotoGP.

This is a delicate moment for Bezzecchi, who, in a team statement, underlined his deep feelings towards his team and the structure, as well as his bond with all those who are part of it.

This Team really means a lot to me, both on and off the track. From Vale [Rossi]to Uccio, to Pablo [Nieto], to all the people working on this project, the technicians, the mechanics, the office guys, the hospitality team, in short everyone. I arrived here after a difficult season, I was already in the Academy (VR46 Riders Academy), but they welcomed me in an incredible way and we immediately created a winning combination.

I went back to running fast, feeling at home, having fun and I have never lost this feeling, through ups and downs. We have achieved many important results, from the first podium in Moto2 in Jerez immediately after Covid, through the first victory in Moto2, the podium in the World Championship in 2021 and the promotion to MotoGP.

And then Assen in 2022 and many other special memories such as third place in last year’s Championship. We will never forget the fragment of a second in which I crossed the finish line at the Argentine GP in 2023 because it was the first victory for me in the premier class, but also the first seal in MotoGP for I think 90% of the people who work on this project for many years.

This ties me to this team forever and I am very proud of it. It will be an indelible memory, however things go in the future. Like all good stories, this one too will have an ending, I hope a good one, I hope with many good results between now and ValenciaGP, I know that none of us will give up and we will give our all until the checkered flag, together.
