The pizza reaches an altitude of 3,400 meters

The calendar of events for the 40 years of the Verace Pizza Napoletana Association continues with an unprecedented event in the panorama of white art: on Monday 1 July, at 3.00 pm, a culinary show will be staged which exceeds an altitude of 3,000 metres. The undertaking, one of a kind, will be carried out in the enchanting setting of Mont Blanc, in the Alpine village of Courmayeur, precisely on the highest point of the “Skyway Monte Bianco” cable car, at Punta Helbronner.

Here a team of AVPN master pizza chefs will launch an authentic tribute to the culture of true Neapolitan pizza, in front of an audience from all over the world, in a live broadcast hosted by journalist Renato Rocco on the Association’s social channels.

An event eagerly awaited by both pizza chefs and enthusiasts, which promises to be a celebration in grand style as part of the celebrations for the Association’s 40th anniversary. For the occasion, a pizzeria station will be set up, at the highest point in Italy, where a team of professionals and engineers will assemble the wood-fired oven designed specifically for the occasion. An oven designed to guarantee the heat sources required by True Neapolitan Pizza even with the very particular conditions of lack of oxygen as well as climatic conditions present at high altitudes. The protagonists of the event are the master pizza chefs Domenico Martucci, Mirko D’Agata, Cristiano De Rinaldi and Pasquale Mormile, led by the General Secretary Paolo Surace and the Instructor Salvatore De Rinaldi.

But the day of pizza at high altitude does not end here. Subsequently, starting from 4.00 pm, the Kids edition of “Pizzaiolo per un giorno” is scheduled in La Thuile, in Piazza Cavalieri in Vittorio Veneto. A meeting dedicated to the little ones which will see the master pizza chefs of the Association accompanying, with their hands in the dough, young enthusiasts to discover all the secrets of true Neapolitan pizza. The evening will continue with “A thousand thanks in memory of Janira”, the charity event dedicated to the granddaughter of the master pizza chef Salvatore De Rinaldi who passed away prematurely, which will see the creation of over 1,000 pizzas in the incredible landscape of the Aosta Valley town, the proceeds of which will be donated to the Lesixiemesens APS Association

The event is sponsored by the Municipality of La Thuile, with the technical support of Skyway Monte Bianco and the participation of international partners.
