Ferrara, 25 June – Balance between the political forces that won the elections, but also a look at the future and development of the city. These are the elements that characterized this morning in which, in the Tapestry room of the Municipal Palace (Piazza Municipale 2, Ferrara), Mayor Alan Fabbri presented the new Ferrara Municipal Council to the press.
In addition to the mayor Alan Fabbri (which maintains the delegations to Health, General Affairs, Institutional Relations, Communication), nine will be the councilors who will make up the Council for the next five years.
Among the confirmations there are Alessandro Balboni, who becomes deputy mayor, as well as councilor for Public Works, Infrastructure, Urban Forestry, Ferrara University City, Environment, Animal Protection, European Projects and Civil Protection; Nicola Lodi (councillor for Security, Hamlets, Urban Planning, Palio, Construction, Urban Regeneration, Heritage, Road Maintenance, Urban Decor, Mobility); Angela Travagli (Implementation of the Program, Personnel, Labor Policies, Equal Opportunities, Fairs, Markets and Traveling Shows); Matteo Fornasini (councillor for Budget, Accounting, Taxes, Investee Companies, Tourism, Promotion of the Territory, to which is added the delegation for Agriculture); Cristina Coletti (councillor for Family Policies, Social-Health Policies, Housing Policies) e Marco Gulinelli (delegations to Culture, Museums, Historical Monuments and Civilization of Ferrara, UNESCO, to which will be added the delegation to Monumental Heritage).
Among the new features they will sit on the council Francesco Charity as councilor for Sport, Productive Activities, Commerce, Economic Development, Chiara Scaramagli, who will have the mandates for Public Education and Training, Youth Policies, Participatory Processes, Twinning, and Francesca Savini, councilor with responsibility for the PNRR, Registry, Civil Status, Demographic Services, Electoral, International Cooperation, Legal Affairs, Information Services, Digitalisation, Smart City. In the morning, all the councilors signed the appointment to the position.
“It is said that ‘you don’t change the team that wins’. I tried to find a balance between figures who have already had experience in the council and new features – Fabbri explained at the presentation of the composition of his fourth government team (the first two as mayor of Bondeno, the others on Ferrara). Despite the political balance following the elections, I thought about the good of the city: I believe that these people can do a lot for Ferrara in the coming years.”
The mayor Fabbri has assigned new delegations, such as those of Program Implementation, Urban Decoration and Road Maintenance.
“The objective in these latter cases is to give a greater tone to the topic of maintenance and public works, as well as to the topic of the PNRR. These areas will be divided into three different departments, because they require greater synergy and adequate control, to further improve the main part of public works and urban decoration”.
Finally, a thought went to the councilors present in the first Ferrara council of Fabbri, not confirmed in the assignment. “They are people who collaborated with me for the victory. I thank them and I hope to be able to do something more together with them in the future”.
Among the next events on the agenda, the first meeting of the Ferrara City Council will be held on Friday 28 June at 8.30 pm in Darsena (near the Wunderkammer Consortium, via Darsena 57). On this occasion, Fabbri anticipated, he will indicate the new Prime Minister, while for the vice-presidency “I am already in agreement with the main opposition party, the PD”. “We hope it will be a more constructive council than the previous one, both on our part and on the opposition’s part”, concluded Fabbri.
