Modica. The traditional passing of the bell at the Rotary Club

The bell passing of the Modica Rotary Club was held last Saturday at Pietre Nere Resort. The president of the 2023/24 financial year Dr. Emanuele Romano passed the baton to the new president, the lawyer Giovanni Favaccio.

The new president presented the new initiatives and new themes that will be addressed in the new financial year. The valorization of diversity, inclusion and integration will be central.

To inaugurate the new year and introduce the theme, the comedian and co-host of Iene Nathan Kiboba and the author Cristiano Sormani Valli were guests of the evening. They presented the first book written together “La Luna da Sotto il Mare”.

The book recounts Nathan’s incredible journey from the Democratic Republic of Congo to Italy. A story of migration, moving and funny at the same time that makes us aware of how life can change from one day to the next.

The book is also the story of a dream that becomes reality, as Nathan’s passion for stand-up comedy is the backdrop to a tiring and dangerous journey.

Through this book, Nathan and Cristiano manage to raise awareness and make people laugh at the same time even about the hardest and most painful experiences, providing a brilliant testimony and a precious and hopeful point of view.
