“Possible damage, landslides and runoff phenomena”

The unstable phase continues in Romagna after the heavy rainfall that hit the hinterland. For Tuesday afternoon the Civil Protection of Emilia Romagna has issued a yellow alert for thunderstorms, landslides and flooding of rivers and minor courses. In fact, it is specified in the warning, “favorable conditions are expected for the development of strong thunderstorms, with possible effects and associated damage, more likely on the central sector of the region, which will end in the evening. In the mountainous and hilly areas of the region, localized phenomena are possible landslides on slopes characterized by particularly fragile hydrogeological conditions, runoff on the slopes and rapid increases in hydrometric levels in smaller watercourses”.

For Wednesday, however, “no significant weather phenomena are expected for warning purposes. However, in the afternoon, the possibility of scattered and short-lived thunderstorms, locally also of strong intensity, is expected, more likely along the Apennine belt, with possible effects and associated damage. Increases are also possible on the minor hydraulic network. In mountainous and hilly areas, localized landslides are still possible on slopes characterized by particularly fragile hydrogeological conditions, following the rainfall of the previous days”. The trend is for an attenuation of the phenomena.
