TRENT. We are approaching the grand finale of the Vigilian Festival, 2024 edition, the 41st in recent history. Unfortunately the anomalous bad weather of this season, after having forced to the cancellation last Sunday and for the first time of the Zatterada in the Adige riverforced the organizers to also review some events already scheduled.

Today, Tuesday 25 June, in fact the carousel with concert by the Carabinieri Fanfare was planned. The Enchanted Village at Solzhenitsyn Park has been confirmed from 10am to midnight, curated by Big Service Srl. A Family Park with inflatable structures, giant Legos, football cages and games of all kinds dedicated to children and their families where creativity and imagination. There will also be an electric train, for a fee, which will also be accessible to those who do not wish to access the Enchanted Village area.

Village of San Vigilio in piazza D’Arogno and via Garibaldi: the Borgo di San Vigilio returns to the program of the patronal festival and, with around twenty companies, will this year animate Piazza d’Arogno and via Garibaldi for the entire period of the event. From 10am to 10.30pm Piazza d’Arogno, Corte dei Mastri, organized by the Artisans Association – Confartigianato Trentino. In the enchanting setting behind the Duomo, it will be possible to admire artistic craftsmanship products, made with passion by local artisan companies.

From 5pm to midnight via Garibaldi, La Via del Gusto, organized by Melagorai, the Social Dairy of Predazzo and Moena and the Carpano Butcher. Welcome to the “Via del Gusto”, a unique experience in the heart of the city where tradition and authentic flavors meet.

From 12pm to midnight in Piazza Dante “Golden Festival Music & Food”, organized by Dolomiti Eventi. Street Food Area, with the participation of around 15/20 sector operators, selected to guarantee quality and diversification of the offer and music dedicated to an audience of all ages.

From 4pm to 5.30pm, in the courtyard of Palazzo Geremia and Palazzo Thun, in via Belenzani, “Vigiliane Kids”, a program dedicated to the little ones, including games, shows and workshops. Palazzo Geremia – Kids Workshops; courtyard of Palazzo Thun: Junior Workshops.

From 6pm to 2am, in the courtyard of the Liceo Prati, “Bivacco dei Cusi e Gobj, organized by Pro Loco Centro Storico. Inside the courtyard of the Liceo Prati you will be able to taste typical Trentino dishes prepared with the genuine products of our land. Obviously in the company of the Ciusi and the Gobj, ready to offer moments of great conviviality and joy. From 9pm – 11pm, DJ set with Paolo P. by Radio Dolomiti.

From 6pm, in Viale Trieste, “Fersina Music Festival”, opening Street Food Lucy Rock DJ set. At 9pm Live Indig Devils, Rock ‘n’ Roll & Rockabilly; 11pm DJ set until midnight, curated by Giuseppe Marchi and Dorian Gray.

From 6pm to 11pm in Piazza Santa Maria Maggiore, “Taste of inclusion: a journey towards sustainability”, organized by the Dal Barba social cooperative in collaboration with the Alpini. The project, thanks to the collaboration of competent professional resources, volunteers, local businesses, aims to build integrated individual projects, through which people are accompanied on their life path aimed at enhancing their capacity for choice and action, allowing them , to be an active part in the process of self-determination.

The policy, which the Social Cooperative pursues, is aimed at guaranteeing as a priority respect for the individuality, privacy and dignity of the person, considering their mental, physical and social needs through qualified and continuous interventions, in collaboration with the families care-giver, and other reference persons. 9pm, swing music concert with the dancers of Swing Dance Trento, to be catapulted into the dance atmosphere of the 1920s.

From 7pm to 9.30pm, in the historic centre, Flash Mob Tango, organized by Social Tango.

From 7pm to 11pm, Walk among the organs of the churches in the city centre, organized by the Trentina R.Lunelli Organ Association. Route 1: Church of S. Lorenzo – 7pm – organist Erwin Costa – The organ as orchestra – The art of Transcription; Church of S. Maria del Suffragio – 8.00 pm – organist – Stefano Rattini – “Nothing original” – Famous pieces transcribed for the organ; Church of S. Francesco Saverio – 9.00 pm – organist Simone Vebber – Romantic organ. Route 2: Church of S. Lorenzo – 8 pm – organist Erwin Costa; Church of S. Maria del Suffragio – organist Stefano Rattini; Church of S. Francesco Saverio – organist Simone Vebber.

9pm Teatro Capovolto Piazza Battisti, Rok’in Diapason Band in concert. This evening on stage the students of the Il Diapason Musical School of the Rock, Pop and Jazz venue of Madonna Bianca coordinated by Cristian Postal in a live show that tells about them, their music, their passions, their dreams. The Il Diapason sc Musical School was founded in 1989, and is active in the field of basic musical training, publishing and artistic activity. It operates mainly in the municipal areas of Trento and Lavis and is also present in the musical bands of Aldeno, Cembra, Faedo, Faver, Lavis, Mezzocorona, Nave San Rocco, Pinè, Verla, Vigo Meano, Telve, Trento and Zambana. It is active in the context of general schools, from nursery to secondary school and nursing homes.

From 9pm, in Piazza Fiera, the night of dance, in collaboration with the Federation of Dance Schools.

Wednesday 26 June, feast of San Vigilio

9.30 am, from Piazza Santa Maria Maggiore to Piazza Duomo, procession of San Vigilio. At 10 am, in the cathedral, solemn pontifical; at the end distribution of San Vigilio pan e vin, in collaboration with the Trentini Bakers Association.

8pm, Piazza Fiera, Waiting for the Challenge – Feltr City Flag-waving Group, organized by Pro Loco Centro Storico. The City of Feltre Flag-Waving Group is one of the calling cards of the Feltre Palio, a fascinating medieval event that takes place every year on the first weekend of August. The group offers a show with a medieval setting in which flag-wavers, musicians and figures are involved in various ways, all with costumes in use in the city of Feltre in the early 1400s.

9pm, Piazza Fiera, delivery ceremony of the hundred horse chestnut shoot, a gift from the municipality of Sant’Alfio, Catania. In the presence of the mayor of Trento and the mayor and councilor for culture of Sant’Alfio, a twinning between Trentino and Sicily, which bears as its symbol “The Chestnut of the Hundred Horses” the oldest tree in Europe with its 4,000 years of life, protected by UNESCO just like our Dolomites. Followed by the Ciusi and Gobja Challenge, organized by the Pro Loco Centro Storico. Among the most exciting attractions of the Festival, the Challenge between the Ciusi and the Gobj is ready to “set fire” to the Arena in Piazza Fiera. In this historical re-enactment of a battle dating back to the 6th century, the Gobj from Trentino, dressed in grey-black costumes, will defend the polenta from the assault of the Ciusi from Feltre, who will wear yellow-red costumes and will try to break the chain to steal the precious polenta . Please remember that pets are not permitted in Piazza Fiera.

11pm, from Maso Mirabel, Fireworks of San Vigilio, a fireworks display that concludes the celebrations dedicated to San Vigilio in a spectacular way, making an appointment for next year. CL
