MODENA. After the rainy night, there is a real bad weather alert with some bridges closed in the city and several families saved by the firefighters.

The situation
Due to intense rainfall which affected from around 5pm yesterday, Monday 24 June, the Fire Brigade Command was busy with all units of permanent personnel in service, as well as three voluntary detachments, in carrying out interventions mainly concerning rescues per person, drainage, landslides and mudslides which caused major problems for the road system. Which areas are affected? The provincial territory of Modena, with particular regard to the band of municipalities in the mountain area of ​​Pavullo, Zocca, Prignano, Polinago, Serramazzoni, Marano.

At 8.30 today, Tuesday 25 June, there have been around 60 interventions carried out since the start of the event, 12 waiting to be assigned and 5 interventions in progress, including some evacuations of people from floodplain areas undergoing flooding due to the flooding of the Secchia river in the municipality of Campogalliano.

Overall they were five people were rescued from cars stuck in the car and caught in the rainbeyond three families in flooded homes.

Alto bridge and Uccellino bridge closed
Around 4pm, the bridges over the Secchia river in Modena, at Ponte Alto, and the Uccellino bridge between Modena and Soliera were closed for precautionary reasons. In fact, due to the ongoing rainfall in the plains and in the Apennines, the river has exceeded threshold 2. Via Curtaton with the bridge over the Tiepido stream has also been closed and the Province is also planning to close the Navicello Vecchio bridge over the Panaro where levels are increasing.

Yellow alert

Monitoring of the Panaro river and all the waterways of the Modena hydraulic node is also active. The volunteers of the municipal civil protection group activated a motor pump on the Bernarda pit in Fossalta.
For civil protection, the single integrated operations room in Marzaglia is active.
Municipal technicians, Aipo technicians and Civil Protection volunteers are involved in monitoring the hydraulic node; the local police monitor the traffic. The coordination of the interventions is entrusted to the Coc, the municipal operations centre.
